Welcome to the website of Erbistock and Eyton Community Council

The Erbistock and Eyton Community Council represents the people living in the area. Community Councils are guided by the Local Government Act 1972. The Council is none political or sectarian. The Councillors are volunteers elected by the community and do not receive any remuneration.

What is the councils function?

Our primary function is to strive to improve the quality of life within the community.  To do this we need to ascertain and express the views of local people.  This involves close liaison with Wrexham County Borough Council, the police and local organisations.  The Council is responsible for setting the annual precept which is taken from the Council Tax collected by W.C.B.C. and is set aside to be spent exclusively on local needs.

Any resident can contact a Councillor or the Clerk to discuss any concerns or bring the issue to the Council’s notice at one of their meetings which has a period of 10 minutes set aside (7.20pm – 7.30pm) for members of the public to speak. The Council meets in March, June, September and December in  Eyton Primary School.

The Council also can award small sums of money to local organisations.

The Clerk provides advice and administrative support to the Council.
